This is a conceptual web design project for the Kinsmen Sports Centre website. The goal of this project was to create an innovative design that will provide a great user experience. I started by researching the facility and its users to help figure out the hierarchy of information that needed to be provided on the site. Next, I made wireframes and styletiles to create a good interface and an engaging tone. Lastly, I created Photoshop mock-ups of the final design that have a bold, sleek, and athletic tone that will engage its users. The drop in schedule on the home page provides users with a good interface that will allow them to find information efficiently, making for a great user experience.
All photos are for conceptual use only.
For this project, I started with preliminary research about the facility and its users. I researched the purpose of the website for users and conducted a survey to find out what users will most likely use the website for. From the survey result, I discovered that the most used amenities were fitness and yoga classes. As a result, I chose to highlight them at the top of the home page. I also conducted a few site audits on other fitness centre websites to help think about the tone to convey, that would best suit the facility.
After completing the preliminary research, I created wireframes to effectively and efficiently display the information. Once I had completed the wireframes, I made two different styletiles to help create the mood and tone of the site.
