    South Africa Exhibit Design

    Branding iconBranding

This is a conceptual exhibit design for a booth promoting travel to South Africa, created by myself and my team. We started by learning as much about the country as we could in order to create a brand for the country. We decided to focus our design on the diversity of the country and the traditional patterns used in the art. We created a white model of our exhibit and digital mock-ups displaying different angles of our exhibit. We also included screens in the tunnel to enhance the user experience by bringing the audience on a mini vacation to South Africa. The tree is the central part of our exhibit representing the natural landscape of the country, and will also help provide our audience with facts about the country.

All photos are for conceptual use only.

  4. The Process

Before my team started designing this exhibit, we conducted preliminary research and created some sketches. I began by making a mind map relating to the country’s culture, geography, and tourist industry. After linking the ideas, we decide to focus on diversity in our design to capture the diverse culture and landscape that is prominent throughout the country. After we had our main idea, we started sketching possible exhibit designs. Once we had decided on a sketch to refine we created a white model of our exhibit. The white model helped us visualize the amount of space in our exhibit compared to a person, and allowed us to make changes to our design to better accommodate the users in our space.
